Salt to Go is a South African (Durban) developed and manufactured product, tested and proven locally. It is a bio-degradable salt dissolving solution which prevents sea salt corrosion. Salt to Go is a salt neutraliser that easily and safely removes salt build up from surfaces. Salt deposits are quickly neutralised, released and removed with each application. Surfaces will be clean and coated against rust and salt corrosion.
Salt to Go is ideal for cleaning and protecting surfaces that are exposed to salt water, coastal air and other forms of salt accumulation. It will not remove boat wax or regular waxes. Any nooks, crannies, or crevices, no matter how small that hold saltwater and its chlorides, rapidly become anodic and acidic. They are hidden starting points of rust. Seawater is more corrosive than fresh water because of the higher conductivity and the penetrating power of the chloride ions. Therefore, a protective barrier will help prevent rust and corrosion.

A marine atmosphere is laden with fine particles of sea mist carried by the wind to settle on exposed surfaces as salt crystals. The quantity of salt deposited can vary greatly with wind velocity and it may, in extreme weather conditions, even form a very corrosive salt crust.

Salt to Go is ideal for cleaning and protecting surfaces that are exposed to salt water, coastal air and other forms of salt accumulation.

Coastal salts (e.g. mainly sodium, calcium, and magnesium chlorides) on surfaces begin to absorb moisture and form a corrosive chloride electrolyte solution at the critical humidity and temperature level combinations. This can begin to occur at 00C (32F) and a 45% humidity level. As typical or seasonal temperatures and humidity levels increase, more salts are activated.

Salt to Go is mainly used for washing outboard motors on jet ski’s and boats, ship upper decks, davits, fishing reels and fishing rods. Other applications include cleaning of vehicles and trailers that are exposed to sea salt or salt water. It is ideal for washing windows and frames of buildings exposed to sea spray, eg houses, hotels, resorts, offices, factories, etc. Washing corrugated iron roofs exposed to salt are protected from corrosion too.
